Introduction
This Data Retention & Deletion Policy explains how GAGE TECHNOLOGY, INC. ('GAGE') stores, retains, and deletes information collected through the GAGE platform. GAGE follows industry standards, legal obligations, safety requirements, and workplace compliance expectations.
Categories of Data We Retain
GAGE may retain the following categories of information:
Account information (username, email, age confirmation).
Profile details (photos, biography, preferences).
User-generated content (posts, comments, photos, videos).
Messages (1:1 and group messaging).
Workplace participation data (evaluations, recognition entries).
Technical logs (device identifiers, crash logs, diagnostics).
Safety and moderation logs.
Retention Periods
GAGE retains data for the following durations:
Active accounts: Retained as long as the account remains active.
Deleted accounts: Most personal data is deleted or anonymized within 30–90 days.
Messaging data: Retained as long as available to users unless flagged for safety.
Safety logs: Retained for up to 3 years for legal and platform integrity purposes.
Underage user data: Deleted as quickly as possible unless preserved for legal reporting.
Reasons for Data Retention
GAGE retains information for:
Operating and improving the platform
Ensuring user safety and preventing abuse
Workplace analytics and reporting tools
Legal compliance and law enforcement requests
Fraud detection and security monitoring
User-Initiated Deletion Requests
You may request account deletion at any time via in-app tools or by emailing support@gagework.com.
Upon deletion:
Personal information is scheduled for deletion within 30–90 days.
Most user-generated content is removed or anonymized.
Employer workspace data may remain with the employer.
Safety logs may be retained if required.
Content Shared with Others
Deleting your account does NOT automatically delete:
Messages sent to other users.
Comments on public posts.
Workplace evaluations or recognition shared in employer workspaces.
This supports workplace continuity and historical accuracy.
Underage Account Data
If GAGE learns that an account belongs to a user under 16, we will:
Suspend or delete the account.
Remove personal data unless required for legal reporting.
Preserve evidence of illegal content when required by NCMEC or law enforcement.
Legal Retention Requirements
Specific data may be retained to:
Comply with subpoenas or court orders.
Respond to legal obligations.
Maintain operational and security logs.
Anonymized Data
GAGE may anonymize data for analytics. Anonymized data cannot identify you and is retained indefinitely.
Backup Storage
Backup copies containing deleted data may persist for up to 90 days. These are used only for disaster recovery.
International Transfers
Data may be processed in the United States. By using GAGE, you consent to such transfers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Continued use of GAGE constitutes acceptance of updates.
